My Singing
Nikolina Rose Korecic, a lyric coloratura soprano graduated from Sarah Brightman singing school where she studied under Faye Robinson, the soprano star of the New York City Opera. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music degrees at the University of Arizona. She made her debut as Despina in Così fan Tutte and later performed in the Los Angeles and Portland Opera projects. She won a musical award playing Christine in the Phantom of the Opera and was offered a Broadway scholarship from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York. She finished her master’s degree at the Music Academy in Zagreb and undertook additional studies at the Mozarteum, Salzburg, and Vienna. She has performed in Croatia, Austria, Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the USA, etc. as a concert and opera singer, independently, and as a member of Zagreb Opera Studio. She has also performed for many charity and diplomatic events and promoted Croatian culture worldwide.
She was a member of Cercle de Musique de la Commission Européenne in Brussels, Belgium where she frequently performed. She sang as a part of Listen to the Pulse of the Planet project at Yehudi Menuhin Space, European Parliament. She sang Violetta in La Traviata for the bicentenary of Verdi organized by BottegArte and Cercle de Musique in Palais des Beaux-Arts BOZAR, Brussels. She also sang for the entry of Croatia in the EU at the EC headquarters in Luxembourg in front of the Commissioner of education and culture Androulla Vasilliou and for her farewell ceremony in Brussels, Belgium.
She still sings occasionally and has performed in hotels on the Adriatic coast as a part of the evening entertainment programs or at various charity events in Zagreb, Croatia.
